**Sand**: 12-15 psi. Long contact patch keeps you floating.
**Mud**: 15-18 psi (you want some shape to clean the lugs).
**Rocks**: 8-12 psi with beadlocks; 12-15 without. Lower equals more sidewall grip.
**Snow**: 12-15 psi, but watch for spinning unseating a non-beadlock.
Air back up at the trailhead before highway driving — driving at trail pressures heats the sidewall and damages it fast. Use a quick deflator (ARB E-Z Deflator, Staun) and an onboard compressor or Viair 400P.
For 33" tires on stock backspacing, you can typically safely run to 8 psi without beadlocks but the bead will let go if you spin hard.
