Terms of Use
Trail Manual is a free reference for people who work on their own off-road vehicles. Using the site means you accept these terms. They exist for one main reason, so it comes first:
Vehicle work can injure or kill you, and what you do to your vehicle is your responsibility. Every guide on this site is informational. It is not professional advice, and reading it does not transfer the risk of the work to us. A vehicle on jack stands, a compressed spring, a fuel system, a brake circuit โ these can cause serious injury or death when handled wrong. Always cross-reference the factory service manual for your exact year and model, use proper safety equipment, and when a job is beyond your tools or experience, take it to a qualified shop. If you proceed with any procedure described on this site, you do so entirely at your own risk.
No warranty
Content is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied โ including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Specifications, torque values, part numbers, and prices change across model years and over time; we work to keep entries accurate and cited, but we cannot guarantee any of it is correct for your specific vehicle. Verify before you wrench.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trail Manual and its operator are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content โ including personal injury, vehicle damage, property damage, lost time, or lost money, whether direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Modifications, warranty, and law
Vehicle modifications can void manufacturer warranties, affect insurance, and be illegal for road use in some jurisdictions (emissions equipment, lighting, lift height, and tire coverage rules vary widely). Knowing and complying with the rules that apply to your vehicle and location is your responsibility.
Affiliate links
Some parts lists contain affiliate links (currently through the Amazon Associates program). If you purchase through one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships never determine what we recommend โ when a part is overpriced or unnecessary, the entry says so โ and safety-critical guides carry no affiliate links. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Content and use
Site content is free to read, reference, and link to. Quote it with attribution and a link. Don't republish entire guides, scrape the site for resale, or present our content as your own. Embedded videos belong to their creators, who retain all rights and credit.
External links
Guides link to retailers, forums, videos, and manufacturers. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, prices, or practices.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the effective date above reflects the current version. Questions: dvs.dnl@gmail.com.
