Solid axles front and rear, Quadra-Coil suspension, and Quadra-Drive on top trims with Vari-Lok progressive lockers in the diffs. 4.0L straight-six or 4.7L PowerTech V8 — the High Output V8 arrived in 2002. The last Grand Cherokee with real trail bones, and the most capable one Jeep ever built without aftermarket help.
