Budget Lift Kit for the Gladiator (≤$600)

Difficulty 2/53–5 hrs$149–5992020-2024

A budget lift gets your Gladiator off stock ride height for a better stance and a little extra tire clearance — but know what you're paying for and what you're not.

Under $600 buys you coil spacers or a basic coil replacement up front, and that's roughly it. The Gladiator JT runs a coil-sprung front — same architecture as the JL Wrangler — but uses leaf springs in the rear. That rear leaf spring setup is the key detail that separates the JT from the JL, and it's why most budget kits only address the front. A 2" front spacer on a stock JT will leave the rear sitting lower than the front unless you add AAL (add-a-leaf) packs or swap to longer rear leaf springs. Some builders intentionally run a slight nose-up rake for clearance; most prefer level. Factor that into your budget before you order.

The Rough Country 2" kit ($199) is the most affordable complete solution, including a basic rear block to address the rake issue. It won't transform the suspension geometry, but it will clear 33s without rubbing and give you the stance upgrade most Gladiator owners want in year one. The Teraflex 1.5" spacer kit ($299) is a better-quality option that uses CNC-machined billet spacers and includes all hardware — it's the right call if you want something you won't replace in 18 months. Daystar's 2" coil spacers ($149) are the barebones option: front spacers only, no rear component, intended for owners who want a level look on pavement or light gravel.

None of these kits include geometry correction. That means no adjustable control arms, no alignment cam bolts, no caster correction. At 1.5"–2" of lift, the factory geometry is generally acceptable, but you will need a front-end alignment after install regardless. Budget $80–$120 for the alignment shop visit — it's not optional. If you're planning to push to 35" tires, a budget spacer kit is a reasonable starting point, but you'll want to add alignment cam bolts and potentially a track bar drop bracket to keep the handling honest.
