Custom-fit seat covers to protect and refresh the worn factory cloth. Wet Okole (neoprene), Coverking (canvas/leatherette), Bartact (tactical) - all make XJ patterns.
XJ factory cloth is worn out on most surviving examples. Custom covers protect what's left and let you actually use the truck as a 4x4 (muddy clothes, wet dogs, etc).
Wet Okole: neoprene, waterproof, comes in dozens of colors. ~$280 front pair, $350 rear bench. Tight fit, dries fast. The XJ-specific pattern accounts for the integrated headrest on most trims.
Coverking: more options (canvas, ballistic, leatherette, Cordura). $200-450 front pair. Canvas is the truck-classic choice; ballistic is the most durable.
Bartact: tactical/MOLLE covers with PALS webbing for attaching pouches. $300-500 front. Useful for tools, flashlights, multitool.
Smittybilt G.E.A.R.: budget MOLLE option, ~$120 front pair. Quality is mid but the storage pockets are useful.
Fit notes: confirm the seat type when ordering — XJs came with headrest types that vary by year/trim. Power seat option (Country) needs different covers than manual. Some sellers ask for VIN to verify.
Install: 1-2 hours for a pair. Most covers stretch over seat from top, attaching with elastic + hook fasteners at the seat sides under the cushion.
