Bronco II Tool Additions
The base kit below handles any rig. The Bronco II adds tools that address the TTB front suspension directly — specifically the upper ball joint, which is the most consequential failure point on the platform. Without the C-clamp setup on board, an upper joint failure is a flatbed call. With it, you're back on the trail in under an hour.
- TTB ball joint press setup — A large C-clamp and receiver tube set handles field upper joint replacement; the lower requires a hydraulic press (not a trail repair). Carry the C-clamp setup for upper joints.
- 36mm axle nut socket — Required for hub removal; this size is Bronco II specific and will not be in a standard socket set
- Vacuum cap plugs — The TTB has vacuum lines throughout; cap plugs let you isolate and bypass failed sections without destroying the system
- 8mm, 10mm, 13mm sockets — Everything on the Bronco II is metric; these three sizes cover most of what you'll reach for
The C-clamp ball joint setup is the most important thing on this list — it's what lets you replace an upper TTB ball joint on trail instead of calling for a flatbed. Keep it accessible, not buried under gear. The vacuum cap plugs are small and should live in your electrical kit alongside the fuse assortment.
