A budget lift on the Power Wagon is primarily a front leveling exercise — the rear air spring system means "budget kit" translates to front-only spacers in most cases, and the truck's already-capable rear handles the rest.
The Power Wagon's rear suspension is an air spring system with load-sensing height adjustment. That's a $3,000 feature from the factory, and it's also the reason most budget lift kits stop at the front axle. The rear air springs can adjust ride height by several inches depending on load — a static rear lift spacer fights that system or defeats it. For anything beyond a straightforward leveling correction, you need a kit designed specifically to work with or replace the air bag setup, which puts you in the mid-lift price tier.
What a budget front lift does accomplish is worth understanding clearly. The Power Wagon from the factory sits with the front end lower than the rear — a factory rake designed to keep the truck level under payload. Running the truck without cargo makes the nose-low stance visible and clips approach angle compared to what the chassis geometry is capable of. A 2"–2.5" front lift brings the truck level, adds clearance for slightly larger front tires without rubbing, and improves the approach angle meaningfully for trail entry. The DJM 2" leveling kit ($399) is the straightforward choice: strut spacers that sit on top of the factory front struts without requiring coil spring replacement. Rough Country's 2.5" kit ($699) includes replacement front coils rather than spacers, which delivers a slightly better ride.
The Mopar 2" lift ($1,199) is the warranty-preservation option — Ram-approved, dealer-installed, and backed by the factory powertrain warranty. For a truck this new and this expensive (base Power Wagon starts above $60,000), warranty protection is a legitimate factor. If the truck is past 3/36 and you're confident in your install skills, the DJM or Rough Country saves $800.
