Differential cover bolts 30 ft-lb. Pinion nut 200-260 ft-lb. Ring gear bolts 55 ft-lb (D30/D35), 95 ft-lb (8.25). Axle hub nut 175 ft-lb.
Differential and axle torque values. Dana 30 front: pinion nut 200-220 ft-lb (preload by feel), ring gear bolts 55 ft-lb with red Loctite (these are left-hand thread on D30), diff cover bolts 30 ft-lb in crisscross pattern, ball joint nuts upper 75 ft-lb lower 80 ft-lb, axle U-joint cap straps 14 ft-lb. Dana 35 rear: pinion nut 210-250 ft-lb, ring gear bolts 55 ft-lb, cover bolts 30 ft-lb. Chrysler 8.25 rear: pinion nut 210-260 ft-lb (use crush sleeve and set preload to 10-25 in-lb new bearings), ring gear bolts 95 ft-lb with red Loctite, cover bolts 30 ft-lb. Front axle hub/wheel bearing assembly: hub nut 175 ft-lb (4.0L), 35 ft-lb on initial seat. Unit bearing hub to knuckle bolts: 75 ft-lb. Brake caliper bracket to knuckle: 90 ft-lb. Always replace pinion seal when pulling pinion nut; check pinion preload by feel - resistance should be smooth, no slop or growl.
