RE's XJ long arm system (4.5"/5.5") is a long-running, widely-stocked option with proven geometry; the original mainstream XJ long arm.
Rubicon Express (RE) was one of the first companies to bring an off-the-shelf XJ long arm to market. The RE Extreme Duty Long Arm uses a triangulated 4-link front, replacement crossmember, RE Mono Tube shocks, and RE coils. Available in 4.5" and 5.5" heights. Build is good but not as polished as Clayton or IRO; bushings are RE's flex joints and require periodic lubing.
RE long arm kits ride well and have well-sorted geometry but the company has had ownership/quality changes over the years (originally California-based, now owned by a larger conglomerate). Some users report inconsistent parts fit on recent kits. Expect $2800-4200.
RE remains common on used builds and the parts ecosystem is mature — replacement bushings, longer arms, and aftermarket joints are all widely available. For a builder looking for a proven system at slightly less than Clayton money, RE is still a credible choice.
