Early Bronco Trail Tool Packing Guide

The early Bronco is a mechanical, pre-computer truck that rewards hands-on preparation. Its failure modes are predictable, mostly ignition-related, and almost all field-repairable with the right parts and tools.

Early Bronco Tool Additions

The base kit below covers any vehicle. The early Bronco adds a short list of ignition-specific tools that reflect its mechanical reality. If you're still running points, these are not optional โ€” they're the tools that determine whether you drive home or wait for a tow.

Pack Strategy

The points feeler gauge and carb rebuild kit are the early Bronco's critical trail tools โ€” the things that will strand you if you don't have them and save you if you do. Everything else follows standard layout. If you've already converted to Pertronix, still carry a set of backup points โ€” the module can fail.

Base Kit โ€” All Vehicles

This is the foundation that goes into any trail rig regardless of platform. The early Bronco tool additions above layer on top of this.
