This aluminum or low-profile alternative is for the Power Wagon owner who is already fighting a heavy front end and does not want to add another hundred-plus pounds over the front axle. On a truck this size, weight management is its own kind of capability — and the front axle is where you have the least headroom to spend.
Start with the number that actually constrains you: the Power Wagon's front GAWR is 6,000 lb, and a 2019-2024 truck's GVWR is 8,510 lb against a curb weight in the 7,000 lb range. A stock truck already carries roughly 4,600-5,000 lb on the front axle with a driver aboard, because the 6.4L Hemi, the transfer case, the factory winch, and a solid front axle all live ahead of the firewall. That leaves on the order of 1,000-1,400 lb of front-axle headroom — and every pound of it is also payload you are spending out of a total that is smaller than most owners assume.
A note on the engine, because it changes the airflow math and people get it wrong: the Power Wagon has never been offered with a Cummins diesel. 2005-2009 and 2010-2013 trucks are 5.7L Hemi; 2014 and later are 6.4L Hemi. It is a gasoline truck. That matters here because a gas Hemi has a smaller, less demanding cooling stack than a Cummins, so you have somewhat more freedom in bumper face design than the diesel Ram HD crowd does — but a 6.4 towing in summer heat still wants air.

The Power Wagon ships with a Warn 12,000 lb winch integrated behind the front bumper, and preserving it is most of the reason to buy a Power Wagon-specific bumper rather than a generic Ram 2500 unit. Before ordering, confirm three things with the manufacturer for your exact model year:

Aluminum (6061-class): the biggest weight savings, typically $1,700-2,300. It takes a moderate hit fine and shrugs off brush and salt, but it deforms rather than springs back on a hard rock strike, and repairing it requires a shop with a TIG welder and aluminum experience — which is not every rural welding shop. Low-profile steel: roughly $1,400-1,900, splitting the difference at 130-170 lb. It takes repeat abuse, and any competent shop can straighten or re-weld it on a Tuesday. On a salt-belt truck it needs the coating maintained or it will rust from the inside of the tube out.
Full-plate steel: $1,500-2,600 and 200-280 lb. This is the correct answer if the truck's nose regularly meets rock, stumps, or wildlife at speed. It is the wrong answer if the truck's real job is carrying a slide-in camper and 400 lb of gear to a dispersed campsite.
The honest decision rule: buy protection proportional to what actually hits the bumper. A Power Wagon that runs forest roads, tows, and carries an overland load is far more likely to be hurt by 150 lb of unnecessary nose weight — sagging ride height, longer stopping distances, more front tire wear, less payload — than by the impact the plate bumper was designed to survive.

Buy from a vendor that publishes a bare bumper weight and a Power Wagon-specific fitment note by model year. A listing that says "Ram 2500/3500 2019+" without mentioning the factory winch has not been engineered around your truck, whatever the photos suggest.
